TRAIL RUNNING
facebook instagram strava tiktok linkedin

Passionate about nature and sports since he was young, Florian naturally turned to trail running in 2011, at the end of his career as a national volleyball player.

What does trail running give him? Exceeding oneself, sharing, conviviality, discovery of the great outdoors and respect for the environment, values that are dear to him.

The trail is a great way to get to know the world.

Installed for nearly 20 years in the Pilat massif, his favorite playground, Florian is responsible for the Pilat Tourist Office and State Certified Mountain Leader. He chose these professions because transmission is part of his DNA: to communicate to different generations his thirst for discovery of the environment, the mountains or the fulfillment that sport brings him.

Performing and enduring, he has participated with brio in many mythical events: UTMB, TDS, UTCAM, Échappée Belle, Diagonale des fous. For the past 10 years, Florian has been evolving alongside Cimalp, his heart family, with whom he continues to climb summits and write meaningful stories!"

Interview with Florian
3 words that define you as an athlete?
Passionate. Enduring. Courageous. I haven't dropped out in 10 years of running!"
3 values that fit you as a person?
Passion, serenity and patience.
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
It's been almost 10 years since I joined Cimalp. It's my second family. Being an integral part of this adventure and working daily with a passionate team is so inspiring and motivating. Day after day, we continue our climb, together, towards the highest peaks!
Your best and worst mountain memories and why?
It's hard to pull out a single memory, no matter how good or hateful... The best and the worst could almost be the same with the Echappée Belle 2016. An exceptional race from all points of view, as much by its harshness and the difficulty of the proposed course but also by its wild and preserved landscapes. A race done in extreme heat where I almost gave up halfway through the race but that I finally completed in a little less than 38 hours in 20th place and after having lost a little more than 6 kilos... A real adventure all in all!
What do mountains inspire you to do?
The beauty of the landscapes, the calm of the heights and the respect in the face of immensity. For me, the mountains are a true place of renewal.
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
It's almost a priesthood because I've made it my job!
Another great passion/talent besides sports?
The contemplation of nature and cooking. I am a bon vivant, an epicurean. I love to drink and eat, and share it all with friends!
