Eager to constantly discover new things and new places, she also loves to read and travel. In parallel to her sports career, Caterina has a degree in Economics, Management and Marketing, which leads her to work in the investment banking sector. A job she describes as sedentary in nature... 3 words that define you as an athlete?
Combative. Stubborn. Tenacious.
3 values that fit you as a person?
Loyalty, sincerity, stubbornness.
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
It's a dream. Being part of such an international "family" is an honor for me. I will represent CIMALP to the best of my ability and honor this opportunity.
Your best and worst mountain memories and why?
On my first Ultra, the Cortina LUT... as I reached the Giau Pass, a violent storm literally ripped off and carried away a refreshment tent. I was afraid. This is the respect I was talking about: always be polite to the mountain, and sometimes not challenge it but know how to wait.
What do mountains inspire you?
The mountains are the place I could call home. The mountain is severe and austere but magically and incredibly fascinating, as snowy as it is free. For me, the mountain is synonymous with clean air, peace, safety and it deserves respect.
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
I believe very much in the responsibility of each of us to contribute to the well-being of the planet, trying to make qualitative and quantitative savings in the use of materials.
Another great passion/talent than sports?
Traveling, reading and studying.
