Interview with Pierre
3 words that define you as an athlete?
Persevering. Hard worker. Sore loser (I'll take it but I work harder)!
3 values that fit you as a person?
Family, nature, fun.
Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?
Cimalp is a French eco-responsible brand that joins my daily professional life and advocates values close to mine.
Your best and worst mountain memories and why?
Both are related to my main activity, flying. The best one is probably the flight that every year gives me as much pleasure: flying above the highest peaks of the Pyrenean chain, Vignemale, Balaïtous, and Circle of Gavarnie.
The worst, without a doubt, was the day I crash-landed in a steep avalanche corridor around 2500m altitude, where there was still quite a bit of snow and I got stuck and felt like a tourist in city sneakers... The tourist still managed to get out of there, reach the ridge and fly home!
What do mountains inspire you to do?
A huge playground, and freedom!
What is your relationship to the environment and ecology?
I don't really do anything personally for the environment except use my legs to go flying or skiing. But I actively participate via my work as a paraglider designer: 100% French and local production, local jobs and projects related to the environment such as traction wings for cargo ships.
Another great passion/talent than sports?
All my passions are more or less related to sports and the mountains.
