How to choose your ski backpack?

Here is our advice for choosing the right backpack for your winter sports activities:

A volume suited to your outings: for day sessions at a resort or freeride, opt for a small volume so you only carry what you need and can remove a warm layer if conditions allow. For multi-day ski touring outings, a large pack of at least 30L is the minimum!

Don't forget your safety accessories: especially for off-piste skiing or ski touring, choose a suitable pack with a dedicated pocket for your shovel, probe and avalanche transceiver

Carrying your skis or snowboard should be a simple and functional system if you need to walk with your skis attached to the pack

The back system of your pack must be comfortable and provide good support

Compression straps and hip belts are designed to balance the load and distribute the weight evenly — essential when your pack is fully loaded
