Men's and women's fleece and micro-fleece jackets

To protect you from the cold, we have designed a range of fleece jackets and micro-fleece sweatshirts for the outdoors. We offer women's and men's fleece models in long-sleeve and sleeveless gilet versions. The Thermo Polar micro-fleece fabric is perfect for fighting the cold. Functional with a chest pocket and zip, we offer a 200 g/m² version for a lightweight and compact option — ideal to wear under a ski jacket or for intense activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or nordic walking. For staying warm in colder conditions, the 300 g/m² version is thicker yet resistant and warm. Fleece is a material that keeps you warm, as it is made from synthetic fibres — often polyester — that trap warm air close to the body. These fibres are designed to create air pockets that act as an insulating layer, retaining body heat.

Stretch and comfortable fleece jackets: a new generation

A Cimalp innovation for our outdoor jackets: the 3D-Flex fabric fleece jacket and sleeveless fleece models. We offer a wide range of stretch and stretchy garments for maximum comfort. Made from polyester, say goodbye to pilling issues that could occur on knit fleece jackets — these fleeces are highly resistant and the windproof effect of the fabric makes them a far more versatile product. All our models feature a full zip closure.

With pre-shaped elbows, Kevlar reinforcements, an elastic waistband, a hood drawcord on hooded versions, multiple side and chest pockets, and a wide choice of colours, you're sure to find the style you love. How to choose the right men's or women's hiking fleece jacket?

A staple piece in any athlete's cold-weather kit, the men's or women's fleece jacket comes in a range of thicknesses, from thin to thick. The thicker it is, the warmer the fleece will be. When choosing your fleece, note that it should be breathable to wick moisture away from the skin and keep the body dry. Stretch fabrics are a great choice for sports requiring a wide range of movement. A stand-up collar will provide extra protection against the cold and wind.

Can a fleece be used as an outer layer?

Men's and women's fleeces are used as mid-layers to add warmth, but they are generally not designed to be worn as outer layers. A standard warm fleece jacket does not offer sufficient protection against the elements such as wind or rain, and its outer surface is not very resistant to abrasion.

How do you care for a fleece jacket?

Use a gentle detergent to preserve the insulating properties and softness of the jacket. Before washing, make sure all zips are closed and turn your fleece inside out. Set your machine to a delicate programme at 30°C with a spin speed of no more than 800 rpm. Drying is simple — just leave it to air dry! If your fleece develops an issue, consider repair first, whether you do it yourself or take it to a specialist workshop.

What activities is a fleece jacket suitable for?
