If you're passionate about trail and running, find all the running gear needed for your favourite sport — here we offer the best headlamps for running.
How to choose your trail headlamp?
Whether your activity is running or trail, night racing requires quality equipment. Follow our advice to find the headlamp suited to your needs and your running practice:
- Find a lightweight and comfortable headlamp: a remote battery pack can be a solution to avoid being weighed down by a battery at the back of the headband
- Look for a battery life suited to your activity: the autonomy needed for an ultra won't be the same as for your end-of-day training runs. If you need to spend an entire night or more outdoors, plan accordingly. Our tip: factor in the outside temperature — the colder it is, the faster battery life will drop. You can also adjust the lighting mode and reduce the output to extend autonomy.
- Find the power source that suits you: a lithium battery, a battery pack or even a mixed solution can be worthwhile depending on your activity — carrying spare batteries is sometimes easier and less bulky than a spare battery pack
- Find the right power output: there's no need to oversize the power (measured in lumens) of your headlamp — a very high output is only useful for fast sports (skiing, mountain biking, etc.) or very technical terrain; a medium output is sufficient for running
