How to choose the right ski glove size?
Size is a key factor when choosing ski gloves or mittens. If the product is too small, it can quickly become uncomfortable throughout the day, and if it is too large, warmth may be reduced due to the greater space that needs to be heated. When in doubt, it is still better to go for gloves that are slightly too large rather than too small. You'll be able to put them on and take them off more easily, and you can also pair them with glove liners. In addition, your hand will swell slightly during exercise and comfort will always be greater for a free hand than a compressed one. To choose the right ski glove size, first measure the circumference of your palm. Place a tape measure around your palm at its widest point, just below your fingers. Then measure the distance from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger. Before buying, it is important to consult the manufacturer's size guide to determine the glove size that matches your measurements.
How to care for your ski gloves?
It is important to know how to choose them, but also how to care for them to make them last over time. First, avoid frequent machine washing, as this will damage the waterproof and breathable membrane of your product. To wash them, a small amount of detergent or soap in lukewarm water with a soft brush is sufficient. Do not add fabric softener, as this will clog the pores of the membrane. However, depending on specific instructions, you can also wash them in a machine. You must allow your pair of gloves to dry thoroughly after a day on the slopes, both on the outside and on the inside. Lay them in a dry place, wrist-side down. Regarding the waterproof membrane, a waterproofing treatment can be applied to the outside of your gloves to maintain their water repellency and all the properties of the membrane.
