How to choose the right trousers size?
Choosing the right trousers size is important to ensure optimal comfort and sufficient freedom of movement. Consult the size guide on the product page. Also bear in mind that you will probably be wearing base layers under your ski trousers to keep warm, so it is important to account for this extra space in the size you choose.
What is the difference between ski trousers and snowboarding trousers?
There are a few differences between ski trousers and snowboarding trousers. Snowboarding trousers are generally baggier than ski trousers to allow greater freedom of movement for the more dynamic motions associated with snowboarding. Ski trousers are often more fitted or slim-cut to offer better protection against wind and cold.
Snowboarding trousers are often longer to prevent snow from getting into the boots during falls or landings. Ski trousers are often cut slightly higher to offer better freedom of movement. Snowboarding trousers are often thicker to provide extra protection against the falls and wear associated with snowboarding bindings.
What are the criteria for choosing your trousers?
When choosing ski trousers, it is important to take several criteria into account. They must be waterproof to keep you dry on wet or rainy ski days. Look for trousers with a waterproofing rating of at least 10,000 mm, but preferably higher, for better protection.
Ski trousers must also be breathable to allow moisture to escape from inside the trousers and keep you dry and comfortable. Look for trousers with a breathability rating of at least 8,000 g/m²/24h for sufficient breathability. Opt for trousers with thermal insulation suited to your needs, with a extreme cold thermal base layer, depending on your activity level and weather conditions.
Ski trousers must be windproof to protect you from the cold wind that can cause heat loss. Finally, they must offer good freedom of movement to allow you to move easily and comfortably on the slopes.
