It is waterproof to 10'000 mm Schmerber, keeping out snow and showers. The seams are not taped, so water may seep through in rain lasting more than 30 minutes.

Which activities is it designed for?

For winter hiking, snowshoeing, travel in cold weather and city wear. For alpine skiing, trousers such as SNOW PANT are better suited: they have an internal gaiter and an adjustable waistband.

It fits true to size: choose your usual size. It comes without a belt, but the belt loops let you add one.

The short version has legs that are 6 cm shorter and is designed for women under 162 cm tall. If you're taller, choose the standard version.

Can the leg hems be tightened?

Yes. A locking elastic drawcord tightens the leg hem around your boot. Shortening the leg yourself would remove this adjustment; the short version avoids the need for hemming.

How should I care for them?

Machine wash at 30 °C with detergent for technical clothing. Use a gentle spin cycle (400 rpm maximum) and no fabric softener. To reactivate the water repellency, use a waterproofing spray or tumble dry on a low heat setting.

These are warm and comfortable except for the waist, it’s a bit smaller than the Hoggar trousers. Apart from the waist these are a great fit and it’s good to be able to buy for shorter people. It’s a pity you don’t sell petite size in jackets and tops. It’s very difficult to find good outdoor clothing for petite size.
