Durability

OUR CONVICTION Equipment built to last and designed to be repaired: that is our most concrete response to environmental challenges.

Designed to last

Longevity is not a selling point. It's a specification.
Every Cimalp product is designed to stand the test of time. That's a choice made at every stage: from raw materials to field validation.

Natural & responsible materials

Traceability

The field test

  • 100% of our fabrics are certified Oeko-tex® Standard 100 or bluesign®, ensuring reduced water, energy and chemical consumption during manufacturing.
  • 100% of our water-repellent treatments are PFC Free.
  • Our wools are certified No Mulesing.
  • Our synthetic fillings are made from corn fibres and recycled polyester, an alternative to animal down, with no compromise on thermal performance.

Materials selected for their durability as much as their responsibility.

  • 100% of our products are tracked, from weaving to manufacturing.
  • Every manufacturing partner is committed to our ethical charter, which covers working conditions, environmental practices and supply chain transparency.

Tear resistance, abrasion resistance, long-lasting waterproofing: we test what matters, in real-world conditions of use.

100% of our technical products are validated through intensive use by our athletes and development teams.

Extend

In 2025 50% of products entrusted to us by our customers were repaired rather than exchanged.

Repair rather than replace

A repaired garment is a story extended.
A zip that fails, a seam that gives way, a membrane that wears out: when the terrain puts your gear to the test, our repair workshop takes over.

Lifetime repair

Longevity

Circularity

The Cimalp Repair Workshop, opened in 2025, is entirely dedicated to repairing our products. A team, a place, a technical expertise, devoted to a single goal: restore rather than replace. Every Cimalp product benefits from free repair, with no time limit.

Repairability is built in from the design stage: we engineer every product so it can be repaired. It is a development criterion on a par with performance and comfort.

A product's longevity depends on more than just its design. It also comes down to how it is used.

We support our customers with tailored care advice for each piece of equipment: washing, re-waterproofing, storage and minor self-repairs.

Helping our customers extend the performance of their gear is part of what we do.

When repair is no longer possible, the product moves on.
Second-hand, donations to charities: we make sure every piece of equipment continues to serve. Materials and products are resources, not consumables.

Carbon footprint: key figures

70%

Our Leitmotiv Doing our part, at our scale, for our playgrounds, our communities and generations to come.

Acting together

The more time we spend outdoors, the more we understand the need to protect what surrounds us.
Raising awareness among younger generations, supporting field initiatives, engaging our teams every day to reduce our footprint.
This is our way of doing our part to keep our playgrounds what they are. Living spaces, open, to be passed on.

Cimalp x allcolibri

In partnership with allcolibri, every order on the Cimalp website has triggered a certified field action aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. What our community has made possible:

    35,324 trees planted worldwide

That's 1,060 t of carbon absorbed per year, 2,713 hours of work created, and 339,130 m² of reforestation.

    31,273 upcycled accessories

That's the equivalent of 1,824 hours of technical training, 187 kg of cotton saved.

    35 m² of restored coral

More than one million animal and plant species live in coral reefs.

    575 kg of plastics removed

That's the equivalent of 115,040 plastic bags and 17,256 plastic bottles.

Prim'Air

Our awareness programme in schools to introduce young generations to the mountains.

Every year, nearly 1,000 schoolchildren go hiking in the Vercors and Pilat, guided by Cimalp's athlete team coaches.
A programme designed with schools in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region to highlight the richness of our mountain ranges and the need to protect them.

The Cimalp rope team

At Le Refuge, our headquarters in the Drôme, 50 team members bring our commitments to life every day.
Soft mobility, energy efficiency, sorting and recycling, partnerships with local producers and craftspeople. Simple actions, repeated, and collectively owned.
