What is the difference between a short-leg trouser and a cropped trouser?

A short-leg trouser is a trouser style for people with a shorter stature. The idea is that it should not be too long and should require no hemming — unlike a hiking cropped trouser, which sits below the knee. It will therefore be lighter and give you greater freedom of movement. However, it may offer less protection against scratches, insect bites and sunburn than full-length trousers.
