How to choose warm clothing for trekking?
Whatever season you have planned your trek for, warm clothing will be a non-negotiable part of your kit.
Whether for summer evenings or nights in a mountain hut, a lightweight fleece and a base layer set to stay warm in your sleeping bag are essential items. Opt for lightweight and compactable clothing, since you will be carrying them in your trek backpack and will only need them at the end of the day.
For winter treks, you will need more substantial kit — even during the day you will need to wear a warm mid-layer while moving, and be properly equipped for the end of the day and the evening at the gîte. If you are not planning on a waterproof and windproof layer, consider a Softshell for its versatility and windproof protection.
