They can serve as women's and men's ski base layers, or even as extreme cold base layers. What are thermal base layers for?

Thermal base layers are designed to protect your body against cold temperatures during your outdoor activities. Like a t-shirt, they are designed to be worn as a first layer and are made from warm, lightweight and breathable materials.

Furthermore, they help regulate your body temperature and keep you warm when exposed to cold temperatures. They efficiently wick away moisture for great comfort. They are designed to be worn directly against the skin and are generally made from synthetic materials or merino wool, which have insulating and breathable properties. Finally, they are very lightweight and compact, making them easy to carry in your backpack. They are also highly versatile and can be worn in a wide variety of weather conditions, whether in cold and dry or wet weather.

Equally suited to athletes and professionals, the thermal base layer can serve as workwear or as clothing for your sporting activities.

How to choose the right size?

It is important to choose a size of thermal base layers that fits your body well, but is not too tight. Base layers that are too tight can restrict blood circulation, which can be dangerous during intense physical activity. It is also important to choose an appropriate length based on your height.

What are the different materials for thermal base layers?

There are indeed several types of materials used for thermal base layers. The most common are polyester, merino wool and nylon, as well as fibre blends.
