Which women’s running t-shirt should you choose for the temperature?
On a lunchtime run in June, the heat builds from the first kilometre and your t-shirt sticks to your back. Start by choosing the weight and sleeve length for the temperature. The LACHA vest, 60 g in size S, leaves your arms and shoulders free; the BOREON, 80 g, has an ultra-breathable knit that wicks away moisture; the VENTURI, 105 g, works year-round, and its double-faced knit dries quickly. In hot weather, choose a vest or a short-sleeved t-shirt weighing 60 to 80 g; on cool mornings, go for a lightweight long-sleeved t-shirt.
Weights in size S:
- Vests: 60 g for the LACHA, 65 g for the TINEE.
- Short sleeves: 60 g for the ELENA, 75 g for LA FRANCAISE, 80 g for the BOREON.
- Half-zip: 80 g for the AUTANE.
- Long sleeves: 95 g for the BOREON LS and LA FRANCAISE LS, 100 g for the TEAM LS, 135 g for the VENTURI LS.
- Warm running top: 175 g for the HUEZ.
Women’s trail vest and ultra-lightweight t-shirt for summer
On short, intense summer runs, every gram of fabric adds heat. The LACHA is a sleeveless vest: air circulates around your arms and shoulders, the fabric dries quickly, and the CIMAFRESH treatment limits odours between runs. The LACHA TEAM adds flat seams, known as flatlock seams, and a cutaway fit that accommodates a trail pack. In hot weather, choose the LACHA TEAM to wear under a trail pack.
The TINEE, a 65 g vest in size S, packs into its own pocket and works for hiking or travel. The ELENA, at 60 g, has fine stripes for effective heat management; its extra-fine knit reduces chafing but needs careful washing. Women’s trail t-shirt: half-zip, packable and reflective
On a steep climb, heat builds up under the collar. The AUTANE, 80 g in size S, has a half-zip collar: open it on the climb and close it on the descent or when it gets cool, without slowing down. LA FRANCAISE and the ITALIAN MONTAGNARD, both 75 g, pack down small. The 80 g TEAM has bonded sleeve hems with no seams to rub. The limited-edition GRIMPEUR PEI, a tribute to Réunion, has a close fit that prevents folds under the straps of a hydration pack.
For night runs, choose a style with reflective details, such as the BOREON, AUTANE or HUEZ. LA FRANCAISE and LA FRANCAISE LS reflect the spirit of our French Mountaineer Collection.
Long-sleeved t-shirt and warm running top for winter runs
At dawn, early in the season or at altitude, your arms stay cold for the first few kilometres. The BOREON LS and LA FRANCAISE LS, 95 g in size S, cover your arms without extra weight; LA FRANCAISE LS also packs into its own pocket. The 100 g TEAM LS covers your arms when the air cools or the sun is out, with flatlock seams that reduce the risk of irritation. The 135 g VENTURI LS combines hydrophobic polypropylene on the inside with quick-drying polyester on the outside, for running and hiking alike.
In cold weather, the 175 g HUEZ is a thermal top made with SMARTWARM fibres: it provides real warmth while remaining stretchy and breathable. Wear it on its own or as a base layer: its thumb loops protect your wrists from cold and wind. It also has a zipped back pocket and reflective prints. For a warmer layer, see our women’s thermal base layers and our women’s trail jackets.
Women’s running t-shirts: sizing, care and fit
Choose your usual size for every style in the selection, and wear the t-shirt next to your skin to let sweat escape. Fits vary: the AUTANE has an ergonomic cut designed for the female body, LA FRANCAISE, TEAM and TEAM LS have a regular fit, and the LACHA has a sporty fit. Wash extra-fine knit styles, such as the ELENA, with care.
