Who did we design it for?

For hikers who regularly head into the mid and high mountains in cool, cold or windy conditions.

You set off early, with wind pushing clouds over the ridges and rain liable to arrive without warning. You need a jacket that keeps up.

You won’t compromise: in the mountains, sweating inside a zipped-up jacket can slow you down as much as getting caught in a shower. You need both protection and breathability.

How to wear it?

Wear as an outer layer over a breathable technical base layer and, depending on the cold, a mid-layer fleece. Its seams are not sealed: for rain lasting more than 30 minutes, choose a hardshell jacket.

We recommend your usual size.

This is a fantastic softshell jacket! The quality is really excellent. The temperature and moisture regulation is superb. I zip it up and I have absolutely no issues with overheating or discomfort. So far, I've gone from 5°C to 20°C and had no problems. I'm 1.83m tall and weigh 104kg (a little on the heavy side, but quite athletic). I hesitated on the size, but I went with my chest measurement and chose XL. The jacket is a tad long, but the width (shoulder/torso/hip) is exactly what I needed, so it's perfect! Thank you for this great product, which I hope to keep for a very long time!

Cimalp quality is definitely there! The jacket's design is fantastic; the color, a slightly matte blue, is beautiful to me; the finishing is superb. It has a removable hood, three exterior pockets and one interior pocket (with an opening for a headphone cable, for example); two side vents under the armpits for ventilation; and the Velcro wrist closures are lined with a small inner sleeve that isn't too tight. I'm 1.81m tall and weigh 78kg, and I ordered a size L so it wouldn't feel constricted when wearing a fleece underneath. It provides good coverage on the lower body. I'll soon be a Cimalp addict if I'm not already! I use it for cold hikes (both in the mountains and on the plains!).

First order and I'm very satisfied. I'm 1.75m tall and weigh 75kg, the size is perfect, even with a fleece jacket underneath. I ordered this coat for autumn/winter when I have to walk the dog, because he doesn't care about the weather. It's very waterproof, windproof, and comfortable, but not very warm on its own; you need to wear a fleece underneath if you want warmth (special mention to the small elasticated panels at the ends of the sleeves for good wind protection).
