THE "CIMADRY" TECHNOLOGY PUT TO THE TEST

THE "CIMADRY" TECHNOLOGY PUT TO THE TEST

09 May. 2019

LA TECHNOLOGIE « CIMADRY » AU BANC D’ESSAI

CIMALP puts everything into developing high-performance, comfortable products to accompany you reliably on your outdoor adventures. Our mission: to deliver the best innovations, tested and validated by sports experts, engineers and doctors.

The ambition of the CimAdry technology is to prevent the runner from feeling any dampness (contact between the t-shirt and the skin). It enables ultra-fast moisture wicking to keep you dry during exercise.

How does CimAdry technology enable such rapid moisture transfer from the inside to the outside of the product? CimAdry is the result of 2 years of development and 2 complementary technologies:

What is the "Cyclone effect"?

To control the flow of perspiration, CimAlp developed a fabric with 2 fibres with completely opposite properties:

  • A hydrophilic outer textile: This material has a profiled yarn cross-section designed to promote moisture absorption. This textile layer on the outer surface draws perspiration away to the outside.
  • A hydrophobic inner textile: This fabric allows water to remain on the surface without being absorbed by the fibres. It repels moisture outward while staying perfectly dry,

The double-weft knit of the "CimAdry" fabric generates a "flow" of H2O molecules, like a cyclone drawing moisture in — engineered to optimise the product's primary function: wicking sweat to the outside.

Hydrophilic fibres are placed on the outside to draw in moisture, and hydrophobic fibres are placed on the inside to expel it.

The test protocol:

The CimAdry textile — in pink (see photos below) — was compared with a standard market textile (green textile).

The photos below were taken at 4 different moments

T0: the moment at which the surface of both textiles received an amount of water comparable to human perspiration

T1: after 2 minutes in open air

T2: after 30 minutes in open air

T3: after 45 minutes in open air

T0: the moment at which the surface of both textiles received an amount of water comparable to human perspiration

T1: after 2 minutes in open air

You can already see that virtually no trace of moisture remains on the inside of the CimAlp t-shirt (pink)

T2: after 30 minutes in open air

No more traces of moisture on the inside of the CimAlp t-shirt (pink)

T3: after 45 minutes in open air

Results:

Tests confirmed that CimAdry technology guarantees extremely rapid wicking of perspiration, from the inside to the outside of the textile.

The CIMALP "CimAdry" fabric delivers a "dry" sensation (on the inside of the T-Shirt) after just 2 minutes, while a "standard" textile is still damp after 30 minutes.

CimAdry: optimal thermal comfort that wicks your perspiration, keeping you dry quickly and for longer.
