Whether indoors or on the cliff face, climbing is only fully enjoyed when mind and body become one. To climb with a clear head, nothing simpler than… Going lighter! When the gear fades into the background, let your movements flow freely. Guaranteed great feelings!

From letting go to the pure thrill of climbing
The feeling climbing gives is universally shared. That sense of freedom, fluidity and intense connection with yourself and with nature. A feeling amplified when the gear disappears and movement and the present moment take over.
Being anchored in the present leads climbers to a complete letting go, where their own limiting beliefs no longer exist…
In those moments, only the wall rising before you matters. Every movement connects you to your feelings, your emotions, yourself.
And when that perfect harmony seeps into every crack of our being, mind and body naturally become one with the surrounding environment.
So, indoors or outdoors, bouldering or on the cliff face, the feeling is the same: the joy of climbing, intense and in its purest form.
To reach that ultimate state of mind, the path of lightness is the way to go.
By choosing the right gear and technical clothing, your freedom of movement will be greatly enhanced!
Some push it even further… Going so far as to ditch their climbing gear altogether, like the legendary French climber Alain Robert or American Alex Honnold, who tackle big routes with nothing but a pair of climbing shoes and a chalk bag…
Clothing in harmony with nature
But without pushing it as far as the professionals, it's possible to feel light — mentally and physically — by adopting the right technique.
Look for gear with flawless technical qualities. Clothing that is both supple and robust will make your ascent easier and enhance your sense of freedom. Here are a few criteria to consider:
- Resistance and protection against rock abrasion.
- Flexibility for fluid and intuitive movement.
- Breathability and comfort for a perfectly balanced feel with your gear.
Cimalp has carved out its own path in the climbing world. The French outdoor brand has launched a brand-new climbing range: Climbing collection. A major first for the expert in hiking, mountaineering, trail running and travel clothing.
This Cimalp clothing line will guide those who wear it to the summit. Designed for mountain lovers and clean lines, it combines comfort and practicality without compromising on technical performance. A new path of resistance, durability and comfort opens up with this collection.
Colours, design, fabric in natural materials — every piece has been designed as a tribute to major climbing sites in France. Climbing Collection was notably inspired by the Presles cliff in the Vercors massif, Cimalp's home territory.

A line developed with climbing professionals
This collection aims to be unique through its evocation of local roots and the participation of Cimalp's team of pro climbers
Ten years ago, the brand developed a sports division bringing together around forty athletes from the mountain world: mountaineers, high-altitude guides, trail runners, adventurers.
Consultation, field testing — each athlete contributes to the design process of certain garments and accessories.
For this Climbing collection, Cimalp involved its accomplished young athletes, such as Kilian Moni, member of the National Mountaineering Excellence Group at 24, and Ilona Serrar, 20, Vice-Champion of France in Ice Climbing and 3rd in the Overall European Cup Rankings. True high-mountain talents pushing the French brand ever higher.
Climbing collection — what it's all about:
- an oversized technical t-shirt in responsible organic cotton that wicks heat
- a built-to-last trouser in recycled composition for committed climbing
- a durable short for summer sessions
- an ergonomic cut with stretch and natural fabrics.
In short, climbing light isn't about going faster. It's about climbing with less, to feel more — and to look back with joy on every suspended moment.
