You are planning your stay in Chamonix for the UTMB® and need to choose your mode of transport to reach the alpine resort? Here are all the options available to get to the beautiful town of Chamonix!

By plane
The nearest airport is Geneva, 88 km away, and a coach company (SAT) runs daily connections between Geneva airport and Chamonix.
By train
Chamonix has an SNCF railway station with TER and TGV connections from St Gervais-les-Bains-le Fayet station, located 20 km away. In addition, the Mont Blanc Express line serves all villages from St Gervais-les-Bains-le Fayet to Martigny (Switzerland), stopping at Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière and Vallorcine.
By road
Road access is fairly straightforward and convenient for reaching Chamonix. From France, a direct route via the Autoroute Blanche (A40) takes you to the heart of the resort, and this motorway is well connected to the French and European motorway network. From Switzerland, a motorway leads to Martigny, after which the road crosses the Col de la Forclaz and the Col des Montets to reach the Chamonix valley. From Italy, the route passes through Courmayeur via the Mont-Blanc tunnel.
Soft mobility
To encourage durable mobility, the race organisation has introduced a bonus to reward virtuous athletes: runners who choose the low-carbon itinerary recommended by the organisation benefit from +30% chance of being drawn to participate in the final events of the UTMB World Series circuit (UTMB, CCC, OCC).
