Here are a few examples of places to visit, along with tips to help you prepare for your trip!

Landmannalaugar Massif

In the centre of the island, it will appear as a rugged landscape. But this place is full of beauty and striking colours: reddish craters, ash fields, deep blue lakes... Numerous marked and unmarked routes will allow you to explore this area. The famous Laugavegur trek, for example, will take you from Landmannalaugar to Skogar via Fimmvorouhalsa. The best times to visit this massif are late June and early September. Temperatures are cool (between 5 and 12°C) and nature is at its most vibrant.

Skaftafell Nature Reserve

The second largest national park in the country by area (covering more than 1,700 m²), it is located in the sunniest region thanks to the protection of the surrounding glaciers.
