Everything you need to know

A natural down expedition jacket. The BALTORO (men’s) and KHUMBU (women’s) are filled with 800 cuin down and designed for belays and high-altitude bivouacs. In wet conditions, the HIMALAYAN’s synthetic insulation retains warmth even when wet, according to its product details.

Three layers: a thermal base layer next to your skin, a fleece or down jacket, then a windproof jacket. Cover your head and hands, and fasten the cuffs and hem of your jacket to keep cold air out.

For everyday winter wear and travel, the MEIJE (men’s) and MORZINE (women’s) hooded down jackets work in town and on hikes, and pack into their compression sacks. For expeditions, choose the BALTORO and KHUMBU down jackets. You’ll find every model in our warm jackets.

They’re called thermal or insulated clothing. A thermal base layer goes next to the skin, a fleece forms the mid-layer, and a down jacket provides the warm layer. Wear a windproof or waterproof jacket over the top when it’s windy or snowing.
