I have scoured the world to find shorts of this length and quality for quite some time and have not found other shorts comparable to these ones. Short shorts are very common here in New Zealand but they are either heavy polyester hunting shorts or cotton farming shorts. These Cimalp ones are a perfect length and weight for summer and are very well made. They look smart and feel great on, and I couldn't be happier to have found them. The shorts are ok, material and fabric is ok, but they are too short in the leg. Normal walking shorts are too long, almost brushing the knee, so I ordered these to try a shorter length short, but they are too short. Also, these are size Large but the pockets are tight when using them.

Finally, shorts that are actually shorts! This item is very comfortable and very well-cut (unlike Bermuda shorts marketed as "shorts") for mountain hiking. It fits me perfectly (I ordered a size S, which is a size 38 in stores) and I'm delighted with itI ordered another pair right away.

I really like this product. Comfortable, flexible, and lightweight. Its understated look means it's suitable for more than just hiking. I'm short and stocky, and thanks to the elastic waistband, the stretch fabric, and the cropped cut, these shorts fit me perfectly (about mid-thigh). Usually, when I buy mid-length shorts in the right size (for my build), they're Bermuda shorts, which are practically capris on me. Thanks to Cimalp for making products that also fit people who aren't tall and slim, and for offering this cropped style. I highly recommend it.
