It fits true to size: choose your usual size. The cut is close-fitting, especially at the shoulders. If you are between sizes or want to wear it over a thick fleece, size up.

What does 20'000 mm Schmerber mean?

It measures the height of a water column the fabric can withstand before water passes through: here, 20'000 mm, or 20 metres. That provides protection against wet snow and rain.

How should I care for them?

Machine wash at 30 °C with detergent for technical clothing. Use a gentle spin cycle (400 rpm maximum) and no fabric softener. To reactivate the water repellency, use a waterproofing spray or tumble dry on a low heat setting.

Superb jacket. I hesitated for a long time before buying it, so I waited. I'm glad I did because with the sales I was able to get it for under ¬180 including shipping, which isn't "cheap" for an item of this quality. Other well-known brands are often much more expensive. Regarding the color: while I was surprised by the color difference for a sweatshirt I ordered from the CimAlp website, the color is a perfect match. As for the size, it's exactly what I expected. If I can offer one piece of advice for this type of item, it's to order a size up rather than a size down (I'm 1.84 m tall and weigh about 130 kg) because you always wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. The jacket itself is superb, with a hood that stays securely on the head (I've had jackets where this wasn't the case, and I should point out that they weren't CimAlp brand). Numerous pockets (including one in the sleeve, handy for storing a ski pass). I was surprised by how thin the garment is, as lower-quality items often feel thicker and heavier, especially in the rain. This results in significantly more comfort. I haven't been able to test it in extreme conditions (or even on the slopes), as the winter of 2024 was unusually mild and sunny. But with daytime temperatures around 10°C, you do sweat quickly (due to the base layer). I recommend this product.
