A thick sock might feel reassuring. But it wrinkles more. On the downhill, it is that fold which slips and rubs — not the thickness that protects. Over ultra distances, this detail takes a heavy toll late in the race.

ULTRA takes the opposite approach: a fine knit for precise ground feel, and reinforcements placed exclusively at the ankles and Achilles tendon — right where friction builds up. Combined with left/right-specific knitting, it prevents slipping inside the shoe and the formation of folds. The sock moves with the foot rather than over it.

A blister almost always comes from the same mechanism: a fold forms in the sock, followed by repeated friction at that point.
