Running : les courses à essayer cet hiver

Just because it's colder doesn't mean you should stop running! Passionate running enthusiasts know it well: winter is actually a great season to work on the fundamentals and build endurance. And there are more and more races organised in winter, offering unusual scenery and interesting experiences to take on! We've handpicked a few races for you to try this winter to sharpen your fitness!

Races to do this winter

Le Raid des Alizés

A 100% nature raid between mountain and sea in Martinique, held every year in early December! This women's solidarity event lets teams of 3 take part while raising money for a charity. It's not just running either — participants can take on other sporting challenges (trail, cycling, kayak… etc). A brilliant opportunity to discover this paradise island with friends!

Le Raid des Alizés

Spartam Stadium

A warriors' race taking place at the Stade de France on 9 March over 6 km, with more than 20 obstacles to get through. A real physical test you can tackle solo or as a team — and one that demands excellent fitness.

Ecotrail

The EcoTrail is an eco-responsible race held in the heart of nature on the doorstep of Paris on 16 and 17 March. The various routes on offer take in both trails and iconic landmarks around the capital, with distances ranging from 14 to 80 kilometres — a great chance to discover new running spots and see Paris and its suburbs in a whole new light.

Le Raid des Amazones

A women's raid very similar to the Raid des Alizés, but set in the magnificent country of Sri Lanka. The island's geography makes for highly demanding routes between sea and mountain, with weather that can be unpredictable. A unique way to travel and explore these extraordinary lands, rich in wildlife and flora, while taking on an exceptional race to close out your winter! The 2019 edition runs from 22 March to 1 April and offers, as always, a spectacular course!

Les 12 bornes de Gorbio (06)

A low-key event that delights the many participants who take on its superb setting every year. In the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes, on 3 February, you'll cover 9 kilometres of road and 3 kilometres of track — a challenge set under the winter sun of the south!

The Paris Half-Marathon

On 10 March, a route right through the heart of Paris awaits you! With a friendly atmosphere and consistently strong turnout, this winter race is a must. Every year it leaves fond memories with those who come to test themselves and see Paris from a whole new angle!

The Paris Half-Marathon

Run in Marseille

A half-marathon that straddles the end of winter and the beginning of spring. The Run in Marseille is often blessed with sunshine. A stunning backdrop and a great sporting atmosphere await you on 24 March 2019 in the Phocaean city.

trail du Petit Ballon and circuit des Grands Crus

Two courses await you in Offenbach in Alsace for these winter events! The circuit des Grands Crus covers 28 kilometres and the trail du Petit Ballon 55 kilometres. It's always a packed event — so well-established that it draws a big crowd and lets you discover stunning landscapes in a fantastic atmosphere! This year the event takes place on 17 March and could be the perfect way to wrap up your winter of trail!
