In trail or on a hike, for certain sections, it is necessary to be able to stow your poles to prevent them from being too cumbersome. Let's look together at three different storage solutions.

How to stow your poles properly?
During hiking, on long outings, and especially in trail, on gentle slopes or flat terrain, it is important that you can quickly stow your poles to avoid any unnecessary bulk that could slow you down. That is why we recommend choosing adjustable multi-section poles:
- Telescopic or foldable for hiking
- Exclusively foldable for trail, for reasons of lightness, minimal bulk and ease and speed of deployment and storage.
We present three different equipment solutions available to you, so you can free yourself from your poles and stow them easily when you don't need them.
1. The backpack - the trail bag - the vest
The space reserved for poles depends on the type of hiking backpack, bag or trail vest. It can be located at the front or back, in a pocket or between two straps/elastics.
2. The quiver
Adaptable to your trail vest or your backpack, the quiver is a type of sheath inspired by the quivers used to store arrows in archery, into which you can slide your foldable poles.
3. The belt
This is perhaps the solution that has gained the most traction in recent years among trail runners. There are belts that feature elastic loops at the back, between which you can slide your poles horizontally across your lower back. It is a practical and quick technical approach that distributes the weight of the poles (even if ultra-light) in a perfectly balanced way. Be aware, however, that this system is only compatible with ultra compact poles once folded. Make sure the poles do not extend beyond your hips, as you could knock against them with your arms as you move forward, which could cause injury or at the very least be quite bothersome.
