UTMB® _ 2023 Results: spotlight on Team Cimalp!

Every year, the UTMB® attracts trail runners from all over the world. Recognised names in the trail running world such as Zach Miller, Jim Wamsley, Courtney Dauwalter and Matthieu Blanchard captivate the crowd even before the event begins, with everyone wondering whether they'll be on the start line. Five athletes from the low-key but high-performing Cimalp Trail Team were in the mix and turned in exceptional times! UTMB®, 2023 results. During the Ultra-Trail du Mont White week, the starting gun is fired across a variety of race formats:

• The UTMB®: 171 km, 10,000 m D+
• The CCC®: 101 km, 6,100 m D+
• The TDS®: 145 km, 9,176 m D+
• The OCC: 56 km, 3,500 m D+
• The MCC: 40 km, 2,300 m D+
• The ETC: 15 km, 1,300 m D+
• The YCC: a challenge dedicated to young runners

The world elite's quest for supremacy at the UTMB

The Ultra-Trail du Mont-White (UTMB) 2023 was an extraordinary spectacle as the world's trail elite gathered for an unprecedented competition. This race is the holy grail of the ultra-trail world. The winners at the 2023 UTMB are:

1. Jim Wamsley
2. Zach Miller
3. Germain Grangier

From the Cimalp Trail Team, ultra-trail runner Bastien Fleury among the favourites at the 2023 UTMB, on his first UTMB, delivered a fine performance! The Chamonix local, well accustomed to high summits, had set himself the goal of completing the 171 km and 10,000 m D+ in under 24 hours — and that's exactly what he did, crossing the line in 23h47mn43s.

On the women's side of the UTMB, the 2023 results are equally incredible. Most notably, American Courtney Dauwalter drew all eyes. She made trail history with a historic triple, claiming first place at the WSER (Western States Endurance Run), the Hardrock 100 and the UTMB!

The TDS podium — a race every bit as demanding as the UTMB!

In 2023, the TDS — also known as "Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie" — saw three exceptional women cross the finish line!

1. Maryline Nakache from Team Cimalp completed the 145 km and 9,176 m D+ in 23h 37mn 57s. She had previously won the women's race at the Harricana trail 2022 and the Marathon Des Sables 2023.
2. Fiona Porte: originally from the Drôme, she won the Lavaredo Ultra-trail 2023
3. Flavie Bruyneel, also from Team Cimalp, finished in 24h26mn14s. This performance exceeded all expectations for the young trail runner — discreet, but a name that won't be forgotten any time soon.

The Cimalp team athletes, in full ascent!

Thanks to its incredible athletes, the French outdoor brand Cimalp, based in the Drôme, is making an ever-greater name for itself in the world of trail. Other Cimalp team trail runners who made their mark during the extraordinary week at the world summit of trail:

• Cimalp team manager Florian Olivier, on his second UTMB, finished this outstanding race in the Top 100 in 27h20mn34s (84th overall — 13th in his category), nearly 1h30 faster than in 2017 (107th place — 29h)!
• Christophe Anselmo, a determined runner on the TDS, finished in the Top 30: he held his place among a strong field and crossed the finish line after 23h54mn40s!
• The remarkable Rémy Brassac on the CCC (100 km and 6,156 m D+ between Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix), finished 14th in 11h33mn43s (2nd in his category). His finish was one of the most moving and memorable moments…

  These athletes went head-to-head with elites from every corner of the globe. Impressive progress towards the summits for the athletes of a team on the rise. Cimalp, at the world summit of ultra-trail. And it's far from over!
