FUTURA and SPEED LITE: Deuter backpacks for day trips

On a sunny climb, the FUTURA’s tensioned mesh back panel lets air circulate between the pack and your back. For day trips, the FUTURA range runs from the women’s 21 SL (1,150 g) to the FUTURA PRO 34 SL, which adds a separate bottom compartment. The men’s FUTURA 32 takes a 3-litre hydration bladder and includes a rain cover. The SPEED LITE models focus on low weight: 370 g for the SPEED LITE 13 and 700 g for the SPEED LITE PRO 25, with its LiteAir back panel and vest-style shoulder straps. The GOGO (600 g) works for both walks and town. In hot weather, choose a FUTURA; to move fast, choose a SPEED LITE.

AIRCONTACT: Deuter carrying comfort for trekking

With 15 to 20 kg on your back, an adjustable back length makes the difference to comfort over several days. The men’s AIRCONTACT CORE models adjust from 42 to 62 cm: the 50+10 weighs 2,300 g, while the 60+10, with VariClick adjustment, is specified for wearers 170 to 205 cm tall and loads up to 20 kg. The 45+10 SL and 55+10 SL versions are designed for people 158 to 178 cm tall. Lighter at 1,600 g, the AIRCONTACT LITE 50+10 has a separate bottom compartment and an integrated rain cover; the FUTURA AIR TREK 50+10 has a tensioned mesh back panel. GUIDE and FREERIDER: Deuter mountaineering and ski touring packs

For mountaineering, the GUIDE 24 (710 g) carries two ice axes, a helmet and a rope; its hip belt can be removed for lighter routes. The GUIDE 34+6 (1,210 g, back length 44 to 54 cm) stabilises loads of 6 to 12 kg with a spring-steel frame and also carries skis; the women’s GUIDE 32+6 SL has the same attachments. On these two models, the lid, back padding and hip stabilisers can be removed when wearing a harness.

In winter, the FREERIDER 24 opens from the back with skis attached and has dedicated compartments for a shovel and probe. The women’s FREERIDER 22 SL also opens from the back, while the FREECLINE 15 weighs 695 g. Wear your avalanche transceiver on your person, never in your pack. For long trips, the VOYAGER 60+10 SL opens from the front like a suitcase and includes a detachable daypack. The AVIANT DUFFEL 70 (800 g) can be carried as a backpack or over the shoulder, and its pouch doubles as an extra bag; the DUFFEL PRO 90 (1,500 g) stows its shoulder straps flat for the hold.
