Which women’s fleece is the warmest?

For extreme cold, the NORVEGE uses thick-fibred Thermopolar 300 and is designed for the coldest outings: bivvies, prolonged belay stops and early-winter trips. Wear it on its own in extreme cold or under a waterproof jacket. The BIVVY has a close fit and long-pile fabric that blocks gusts of up to 60 km/h. For more consistent warmth during activity, the CHARVET combines 300-weight fleece with merino wool.

What size should I choose for a women’s fleece?

Choose your usual size in most Cimalp women’s fleeces: they fit true to size. The BLIZZARD trail fleece runs small and fits close to the body, so size up if you prefer more room. The ICON unisex sweatshirt runs slightly large: if you’re between sizes, size down.

How do you wash a fleece jacket?

Machine-wash it at 30 °C, preferably inside out. Avoid tumble-drying and let it air-dry to preserve the fibres’ softness and loft. Like all Cimalp clothing, it is covered by the free repairs for life.

How do you choose a women’s fleece for hiking?

On an autumn trail, you take your fleece off for the climb and put it back on at every stop. Choose it based on how hard you’ll be working. Made from 200 g/m² Thermopolar 200 fabric, the full-zip FREEZE and half-zip ALASKA each weigh less than 300 g in size S: a lightweight fleece is enough while you’re walking. Thicker ROUSSET and VEYMONT fleeces in Thermopolar 300 come with a high collar or hood and a wool-look fabric that works on the trail and in town. Before you choose, check:

Fabric weight: 200 or 300 g/m² in Thermopolar.
Weight in size S: from 180 g to nearly 500 g.
Wind protection: moderate breeze (20 to 40 km/h) or strong breeze (40 to 60 km/h).

Women’s fleece for mountaineering and skiing

On a chairlift or at a changeover point, cold gets in at the wrists and collar. The JORASSE has thumbhole cuffs and a built-in cold-weather face mask that you can pull out in one movement. Like the BERNAUDE, it’s suited to alpine skiing; both block winds of 20 to 40 km/h.
