Everything you need to know

One that suits the day’s temperature. In warm weather, choose a t-shirt weighing under 100 g, such as the EIGER or BAUGES. If the weather may change during your run, try a half-zip top like the FARAUT. In winter, switch to a warm long-sleeved top like the ALBAN. Avoid cotton: it stays wet.

The fabric is the same: lightweight, breathable and quick-drying. A trail t-shirt adds features useful in the mountains: reflective details for running at night, fabric that feels comfortable under a pack, and sometimes a pocket to pack it into. All our trail t-shirts work for road running too.

Choose a lightweight, odour-treated top that you can carry a spare of in your pack. The LE FRENCH MONTAGNARD weighs 95 g and packs into its side pocket. Add a long-sleeved layer for the night. Find all the kit in our long-distance trail and ultra.

Cotton holds sweat and leaves you cold when you stop: avoid it. Synthetic fabric wicks moisture and dries fastest. Merino wool takes longer to dry, but regulates temperature and reduces odours: see our merino wool t-shirts.
