What size should I choose?

Lowa recommends your usual size; use its size chart to check the foot length for each size. When they arrive, remove the insole and place your foot on it to check the available space. The fit is standard width, for medium-width feet.

Are GORE-TEX shoes waterproof?

Yes: the GORE-TEX® membrane is waterproof, windproof and breathable. It keeps your feet dry in rain and wet sections, but it is not designed for immersion.

How high is the upper?

The mid-cut upper measures 130 mm on both the outside and inside, according to Lowa. It supports the ankle while remaining very light.

Lowa designed them for long, demanding routes, whether trail running or speed hiking, and for dynamic mountain activities.

According to Lowa, the drop is 6 mm. Lowa also describes the midsole as having a rocker construction and classifies the shoe as very flexible.

How do you care for these GORE-TEX shoes?

Brush the shoes after each outing, then clean them with lukewarm water and a soft brush. Remove the laces and insole, and leave them to air-dry in a ventilated room, away from heat sources. Never machine-wash them. Lowa notes that GORE-TEX® shoes also need regular cleaning, care and waterproofing treatment suited to their materials.

Can they be repaired?

For this model, Lowa lists seam, hook and eyelet repairs, as well as replacement parts. Resoling is not on the list.

What are the delivery times for this product?

I bought these shoes for hiking with my Belgian Shepherd, covering various distances and terrains, as a complement to my heavy leather hiking boots, which I use every day. I needed a comfortable hybrid shoe with good cushioning like a sneaker, durable like a good hiking boot, and waterproof since I hike in all weather. Ultimately, this pair of shoes disappointed me. I walk every single day, and by the second hike, I started experiencing pain above the ankle of my right foot (no problem with my left). To compensate, I wedge very thin pieces of plastic between the shoe and my leg, but these end up shifting as I walk and need readjusting to avoid injuring my right foot. I tried the shoes on the evening after work, as soon as I received the package, wearing them at home all evening, and then again the next day to confirm the size and feel. The first walk went well (a short 5km walk). Otherwise, the shoes are comfortable (for my left foot), the cushioning is very good and very pleasant for brisk walking. I wear a size 43 and I ordered a 43.5, which fits perfectly. I should add that I also have some doubts about the waterproofing of these shoes. In short, the description was enticing, but I don't find the qualities I was looking for. It's a shame, the price is high for such a result. These shoes are also available in other colors; only black is listed on the website, a wider selection would be welcome.
