How do I clean and care for my hiking shoes?

After each outing, brush your shoes dry to remove dirt. Clean them with lukewarm water and a soft brush. Leave them to air dry, always away from direct heat sources (radiators). Then apply a re-waterproofing spray.

Who did we design it for?

For regular hikers who chain day outings, from forest trails to mid-mountain paths.

Routes where packed dirt, wet sections and scree come one after another without warning, at a sustained pace from morning to evening.

This user wants to place each foot with confidence on every foothold, without sacrificing comfort nor the breathability when the temperature climbs.

How should you wear it?

Take the time to adjust the lacing mid-route to lock the heel firmly on descents and prevent hotspots. We recommend choosing half a size up from your usual size to account for foot swelling during effort.

What makes the difference?

Its flexible and durable leather moulds to the shape of the foot from the very first outings. Immediate comfort, no break-in period, so you can enjoy the trail from the very first step.

The stability that frees your stride

On a hike, the terrain gives no warning.

The Meindl Ohio 2 GTX was designed to keep your progress secure from morning to night. It offers firm, enveloping support, reliable grip on mixed surfaces and waterproofing that holds up through waterlogged terrain. Feet stay dry, footing stays stable, even as the kilometres add up and the trail deteriorates.

Because in the mountains, confidence starts with a sure footing.
