3-layer trousers are tougher and offer more protection than 2-layer or 2.5-layer trousers. This pair features our ULTRASHELL® technology.

Is it compatible with a climbing harness?

Yes. The high waist stays in place under a harness, and the thigh pockets remain accessible.

No, a belt is not included. The high waist adjusts with two hook-and-loop tabs and fastens with two press studs.

Does it have a RECCO® reflector?

Yes. It allows rescuers equipped with a detector to locate you in an avalanche. It complements, but does not replace, an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe.

What should you wear underneath?

Wear them as your main layer. In very cold conditions, add thermal leggings underneath: the trousers protect against rain and wind but do not provide warmth.

Which size should I choose?

They run slightly large: if you are between sizes, choose the smaller one. Two hook-and-loop tabs adjust the waist.

Are there integrated gaiters?

Yes. The lower-leg zip opens to reveal an integrated elastic gaiter that keeps snow out of your boots.

How should I care for them?

Machine wash at 30 °C with zips closed, using a detergent for technical clothing and a gentle spin cycle. Do not use fabric softener. To restore water repellency, apply a reproofing spray after washing.

What are the delivery times for this product?

If you place your order before 1 pm (excluding weekends), it will be dispatched the same day. Allow 2 to 4 working days for home delivery or collection point delivery within mainland France.

Can I return the item if the size doesn't fit?

Who did we design it for?

For mountaineers and ski-hiking enthusiasts tackling ridges and glaciers in poor high-mountain conditions, and accustomed to wearing a harness and crampons.

What makes it different?

Our ULTRASHELL® technology: a 3-layer membrane, waterproof to 20'000 mm and breathable at 80'000 g/m²/24h, with rip-stop fabric that resists abrasion from rock and crampons.

How waterproof is it?

A 20'000 mm Schmerber rating and taped seams keep out rain and snow. They also block strong winds of 60 to 90 km/h.

How breathable is it?

The fabric lets moisture vapour escape at 80'000 g/m²/24h, while side zips ventilate your legs. At high intensity, any waterproof trousers will retain some moisture.

These trousers are made for days like this: the adjustable high waist stays in place under your harness, the rip-stop fabric stands up to rock and crampons, and the lower-leg zip opens to reveal a gaiter that keeps snow out of your boots. Waterproof and breathable, they let moisture escape while keeping rain out.

The thigh pockets remain accessible under your harness, while side zips ventilate your legs on the ascent. You move from pitch to pitch, through couloirs and kick turns, without giving your trousers a second thought.

A fantastic pair of pants I use for alpine mountaineering and glacier trekking. Robust with reinforced leg cuffs, essential for crampon use, waterproof and breathable. A Strategic Pant as a base layer for warmth. I'm 1.80 m tall, 79 kg, and chose a size M. It runs a bit large; I usually wear L at Cimalp. Go for it, the price is very fair.

Functional mountain pants with numerous pockets. They are waterproof and windproof. The side zips are a plus in case your legs get too hot. The fabric of the pants might feel a little unpleasant to the touch. I wear a size 42-44 (French sizing) and the size L fits perfectly. You can still wear thermal underwear underneath in very cold weather. One small drawback: the top snap button comes undone easily (use a belt). Suggested improvement: replace it with a hook-and-eye closure and keep the second snap button.
