In 2025, the fast-growing French outdoor brand became the official supplier of both the men's and women's national mountaineering teams!

Cimalp x FFME: a partnership in support of mountain sports
The Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l'Escalade (FFME) has chosen Cimalp, the French outdoor brand of mountain clothing and equipment, as the official supplier of its national mountaineering teams in 2025! A deeply meaningful collaboration grounded in a shared will and conviction: to make outdoor sports accessible to all and bring people closer to their natural environment.
The Federation, chaired by Alain Carrière, promotes and develops six sporting activities in France: climbing, mountaineering, mountain hiking, canyoning, snowshoeing and ski mountaineering.
As for Cimalp, guided on its path to the summits by CEO Lionel Marsanne, its purpose is to make technical, durable and innovative clothing and accessories accessible to all outdoor sports enthusiasts.
A new headquarters for a growing company
Founded in 1964 by a visionary mountain lover, Cimalp was acquired by the Marsanne family in the early 1990s. Less than fifteen years later, it was Lionel Marsanne who took the helm — having grown up immersed in the world of the French brand his father had bought on instinct alone. Today, Cimalp is in full growth, with its new headquarters rising from the ground, set to welcome its 50 employees in the course of April 2025.
Named "Le Refuge", this building pays tribute to all mountain and nature enthusiasts, as well as to the brand's employees, who gain a new working environment: a larger warehouse better suited to the growing SME's needs, spacious offices and a more engaging retail space to showcase the full product range.
Le Refuge Cimalp aims to be 100% energy self-sufficient with the installation of solar panels, heat pumps and an adiabatic cooling system. By the numbers: 35,000 m² of land — 6,000 m² warehouse — 1,400 m² of offices — 2,000 m² retail space — 1,080 m² of solar panels
A Federation of over 120,000 registered members
Accredited by the ministry responsible for sport, the French Mountain and Climbing Federation's public service mission is to promote and develop mountain sports activities in France. With approximately 1,000 clubs, the Federation currently welcomes 120,000 registered members.
The FFME also oversees in particular the development of the men's and women's national mountaineering teams (ENAM & ENAF). Over three years, they follow an official training and camp programme, and prepare an expedition project in a foreign massif.
