To find accommodation for the UTMB®, bear in mind that finding a place to stay in Chamonix can be tricky in the height of summer, due to the large crowds the event attracts. Here are some tips to help you find somewhere to stay during the UTMB®.
Don't be afraid to stay a little further out
You'll find accommodation at lower prices than in Chamonix itself if you're willing to venture a little further out. Sallanches, Combloux and Passy offer great options while remaining fairly close by. Beyond Chamonix, numerous villages dot the valley all the way to Martigny in Switzerland, and can also be good spots to find well-located accommodation.

Book early
Some properties are booked year after year by regulars — don't hesitate to do the same. The key is not to leave it too late, or you risk having to stay very far away. Find our detailed booking calendar in our article When should you book accommodation for the UTMB®?.
Sharing a large property with a group
Studios and one-bedroom flats are the first to go. If you're taking part with friends, consider opting for a larger property and staying together to share costs. Larger accommodations are also more readily available and less in demand.
