What size should I choose?

Choose your usual size or, if in doubt, the slightly larger size: that’s Meindl’s advice. Try them on in the afternoon with your hiking socks, leaving about 1 cm of space at the toes. The size guide gives foot length in millimetres for each size.

Do they fit narrow or wide?

Meindl classifies them as a standard fit, neither narrow nor wide.

What kinds of hikes are they designed for?

Meindl classifies them as category AB, for light hiking: lowlands, mid-mountain terrain and the Prealps, on maintained or rougher paths, including routes to mountain huts.

Are they really waterproof?

Yes: the GORE-TEX lining is waterproof and breathable. It protects the foot on wet trails and in the rain, but is not designed for immersion.

How much do they weigh?

440g per boot in size 38, or 880g per pair.

How should I care for these shoes?

After each outing, brush off dirt and clean the shoes with lukewarm water. Do not machine-wash them. Remove the insole to air it, then leave everything to dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and radiators; newspaper inside can help if the lining is wet. To waterproof the leather and textile parts, Meindl recommends a suitable spray, such as Meindl WetProof, reapplied regularly. It advises against oils and grease, which can weaken the shoe.

Yes, provided the upper is in good condition. Meindl says all its hiking, trekking and mountain boots can be resoled by a cobbler or through a Meindl retailer. Any repair voids the GORE-TEX “Guaranteed to keep you dry” guarantee.

What is variofix® lacing?

It’s Meindl’s heel-lacing system: a free-moving strap, the ‘speed wire’, tightens evenly around the heel as you lace up, keeping it in place.

What are the delivery times for this product?

If you place your order before 1 pm (excluding weekends), it will be dispatched the same day. Allow 2 to 4 working days for home delivery or collection point delivery within mainland France.

Can I return the item if the size doesn't fit?

Yes, absolutely. You have 30 days to return it and get a refund or an exchange. Return shipping is free. The item must be new, unworn, unwashed, and have its original tag.

Who did we design them for?

For women who hike regularly in the mid-mountains: rocky trails, light treks and wet sections.

How waterproof is it?

Waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® lining keeps feet dry in the rain and on wet sections.

How much support?

The high-cut upper supports the ankle. Meindl’s variofix® lacing tightens evenly around the heel; on descents, tighten the ankle zone securely.

What about grip?

Vibram® outsole with rubber lugs and a dual-density EVA cushioning wedge: the pronounced tread provides grip on rocks and loose trails.

Ideal for

Hiking

When the trail gets tougher

Unstable rocks, wet sections, descents that seem to go on forever. When the trail gets tougher, every foothold counts, and so does ankle support.

This high-cut boot supports the ankle. Its waterproof lining protects against wet sections, its cushioning wedge softens descents, and its pronounced tread provides grip on rocks and loose trails.

Because a difficult trail is easier to descend with secure footing.

Excellent shoes... diehard fan of the brand since 2016. I hope these will do the same for me. For the moment worn only on coastal paths.

I wore them for a short one hour hike and I think I misadjusted the lacing because it's the first time that a pair of Meindl shoes compresses my feet. I'm waiting to wear them again to judge.
