For outings of up to 2 hours, yes. The multi-pocket waistband holds flasks, gels, bars and keys. Pack small, light items to minimise movement.

No, it isn’t necessary: the built-in briefs replace a base layer and are worn directly against the skin. Avoid cotton, which retains moisture and can cause chafing.

Rather nice short, light and comfortable. What I regret most is the stitching in the middle of the large mesh pockets—it's not practical for carrying a soft water bottle. I prefer the velcro system on the Aspe short! So I use this short for training, but for racing I prefer the Aspe.
