GUIDE PRO PANT

Waterproof and resistant Trousers with Ultrashell® membrane - Men's

199,90 €

Who did we design it for?

For mountaineers and men who go ski hiking in challenging high-mountain conditions, on ridges and glaciers, and are used to wearing a harness and helmet. No compromise on reliability.

What makes it different?

Our ULTRASHELL® technology: a 3-layer membrane, waterproof to 20'000 mm and breathable at 80'000 g/m²/24h, with rip-stop fabric and shoulder reinforcements to resist abrasion.

How waterproof is it?

20'000 mm Schmerber waterproof rating, taped seams, water-repellent YKK Vislon zips and a roomy hood that fits over a helmet. It also blocks strong winds.

How breathable is it?

It releases moisture vapour at 80'000 g/m²/24h, while underarm ventilation zips let heat escape. During intense activity, any waterproof jacket will retain some moisture.

In the high mountains, conditions can change in an instant. When the cold sets in and the elements work against you, your kit needs to go the distance.

This jacket protects you without restricting movement or comfort. It provides a reliable barrier against the elements, moves with you as the effort intensifies and withstands wear on demanding terrain.

Your toughest challenges take more than determination. They demand reliable protection in all weather.

Designed for intensive use in the mountains, ULTRASHELL® technology favours built-to-last constructions to ensure a high durability and reliable long-term protection.

Safety technology facilitating location in the event of an avalanche.

  • Integrated reflector : allows you to be located by rescue teams equipped with RECCO® detectors.

Customers first appreciate the quality of the construction, neat finishing and material described as robust. Several have confirmed its waterproofing, including during ski touring, while the underarm vents provide good breathability. It effectively blocks the wind and remains comfortable, even when worn over several layers. The hood also allows the jacket to be packed easily into a backpack. Several customers highlight its good value for money. However, the fit can run large or feel unusual, so check the size guide carefully before choosing.

I haven't had the chance to really test this jacket yet, but it looks and feels really well made with a tough (but not rigid exterior) and a very good lining. But it's not as heavy as you might think, a big plus. I'm about 1.8 m, 76/77 kg and a medium fits very well with room underneath for a softshell, fleece or insulated jacket. I think the blue/grey colour scheme is very good, providing good visibility (of me!) in the places I will be over the autumn and winter, so I won't have to wear the "obligatory" orange!

Excellent purchase, happy! I bought a 3XL, one size larger than my usual size, because I wanted to be able to use it in winter with a down jacket, so for now, with just a fleece, it's more than roomy. I'm going to use the jacket for trekking in forests and mountains, usually in the rain, so I needed it to be durable, waterproof, and breathable, and I have to say I made the right choice. Today I tried it for the first time, in constant, heavy rain for hours, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase; it's perfect for me. Norway - May 2024. Thank you.

Excellent product, tested so far on two outings at 2,200 meters in snow ranging from 0 to -10 degrees Celsius, with a mixed snowshoe trek and soft snow, with an elevation gain of about 1,000 meters. What impressed me was the breathability; having a North Face Summit series shell, I didn't expect such quality at this price. The material is crisp (just how I like it) and feels durable and solid. I was impressed with its features; the only downside is the zipper isn't very smooth (the fastening area), and when it's cold and you have to put it on (with gloves), it's not very comfortable, but perhaps it's a little stiff because it's new. I would have added longer laces for the zippers, again for gloves, but these are minor details. I was very satisfied and will buy again. Test area: Adamello area, Italian Alps

As a kid, I saw the older folks in the valley decked out in Cimalp gear, and now I understand why! The jacket is simply superb quality, with impeccable details and finish. It fits true to size (I'm 1.8m tall and weigh 90kg in XXL), and this technical jacket offers excellent value for money! The ripstop fabric is incredibly durable, and its waterproofing and breathability are top-notch! I use it for paragliding, both for flying and climbing, as well as for snowboarding. It does everything, and it does it well!! You can order with confidence; order processing, shipping, and delivery only took 5 days!!! Cimalp has been a trusted brand for many years, and I hope it continues to be so for a long time to come...

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes. An integrated RECCO® reflector helps rescuers equipped with a detector locate you in an avalanche. It complements an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe; it does not replace them.

Yes. The roomy, adjustable hood is designed to fit over a helmet. Without one, it remains quite bulky.

Two zipped chest pockets and no lower pockets: the chest pockets remain accessible when you’re wearing a harness or a rucksack hip belt.

A softshell also has a thermal inner layer, whereas a hardshell provides no insulation. A hardshell has sealed seams and is fully waterproof, unlike a softshell, which is not completely waterproof.

A 3-layer jacket is more durable and protective than a 2-layer or 2.5-layer jacket. This one has a 3-layer construction with our ULTRASHELL® technology.

Wear a technical base layer and, in cold weather, a fleece or insulated jacket. The outer jacket protects against rain and wind but does not provide warmth.

It runs slightly large: if you’re between sizes, choose the smaller one. Its roomy fit accommodates a thick insulated jacket underneath.

Machine wash at 30 °C with detergent for technical clothing. Use a gentle spin cycle (400 rpm maximum) and no fabric softener. To reactivate the water repellency, use a waterproofing spray or tumble dry on a low heat setting.

If you place your order before 1 pm (excluding weekends), it will be dispatched the same day. Allow 2 to 4 working days for home delivery or collection point delivery within mainland France.

Yes, absolutely. You have 30 days to return it and get a refund or an exchange. Return shipping is free. The item must be new, unworn, unwashed, and have its original tag.
