In our wide range of hiking accessories and equipment, we have selected bags and panniers designed for cycling to accompany you on your rides.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CYCLING GEAR?
– For short-term or occasional use: a backpack is the most practical option. Otherwise, opt for handlebar, saddle or frame bags: they are small and practical, allowing you to carry the essentials.
– For daily use: if you cycle to work regularly, a 15 to 20 liter rear rack pannier is ideal, as it allows you to store equipment. Alternatively, or in addition, a large handlebar bag and/or a large saddle bag can also be recommended for this use.
For shopping or carrying bulky items, a double pannier on a rear rack is recommended, as it can offer between 20 and 50 liters of storage. A shoulder-strap handlebar bag lets you easily carry your essentials (wallet, phone, keys…) once you're off the bike. Think about ease of use when choosing your cycling pannier — you'll likely be opening and closing it multiple times. Simple fastenings and closure systems are a must.
– For bicycle travel: a large storage capacity is required. A double pannier on the rear rack between 40 and 50 liters will be ideal. Same at the front — a double pannier will let you store your belongings.
– Ortlieb mounting systems:
Quick-Lock 1 : This clever system lets you attach and detach your panniers with one hand. Simply lift the handle to open the two hooks at the back of the pannier. When you release the handle, the hooks close around the tube. The only constraint is that the tube must measure between 8 and 16 mm in diameter. The Quick-Lock 1 also allows you to push the pannier closer to or further from the bike frame depending on your space needs.
Quick-Lock 2 : This mounting system shares the same characteristics as the first, but also adds an anti-theft system. The adjustment is also more reliable, faster and easier.
Quick-Lock 3 / 3.1 : These mounting systems are designed for urban use. The mount stays on the bike's rear rack, so your pannier doesn't have an awkward hook that gets in the way when you're on foot.
Rack-Lock : Four hooks, including two flexible ones, make up this system. A single press is enough to install the Rack-Lock on a rear rack, which can support up to 10 kg.
