Alexia is one of those inspiring women with incredible drive. Originally from Mont Ventoux, she is a PE teacher and sport is an integral part of her life.

Before trail, she played handball and tennis and many other outdoor sports. She came to running later in life, about 7 years ago. Since then, she's been hooked on race bibs!

In 2021, between June and December, she pinned on up to 30 race bibs. In 2022, our trail runner from the South-East planned to push further into high-altitude mountain racing, notably with Skyrunning — considered an extreme running sport, with events above 2,000 metres altitude, on slopes steeper than 30% and with sections of climbing... And in her spare time, she loves clowning around and making her friends laugh. A truly remarkable woman!

Interview with Alexia Coudray

3 words that define you as an athlete?

A true Gazelle! Persevering. Competitive.

3 values that define you as a person?

Sharing, good spirits, humility.

Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?

I recognise myself in the values of sharing and support. And that connection to nature... In short, you feel at home the moment you take a step into the Cimalp Family!

Your best and worst memory in the mountains and why?

My best memory? Climbing Mont Blanc with my best friend who introduced me to mountaineering! The worst... Crossing the Arête des Papillons on a climb. I was completely out of it that day.

What do the mountains inspire in you?

Escape, freedom, humility, fascination, wide open spaces...

What is your relationship with the environment and ecology?

Protecting nature through small everyday actions.

Another great passion / talent besides sport?

If it counts as a talent, I'd say being a bit of a clown in my spare time!
