A sports coach specialising in trail and road cycling, Rémy admits he did very little sport when he was young. He started running and trail in 2015, initially aiming to lose weight (-10 kg).

In 2016, the result of his first competition was encouraging! He then decided to follow a more structured programme to ensure steady progress.

In 2021, this allowed him to take a significant step forward. But despite his competitive spirit, the pleasure of exploring nature remains the foundation of his motivation. Alongside trail, he enjoys mountain biking, skiing and road cycling.

Rémy now combines passion and profession: he has developed his coaching business and helps committed athletes push their limits and achieve their goals.

Interview with Rémy Brassac

3 words that define you as an athlete?

Humble. Determined. Dedicated.

3 values that define you as a person?

Willpower, rigour, generosity.

Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?

Cimalp, a French brand and a human-scale company, suits me perfectly. The communication is dynamic and projects a fresh, young image.

Your best and worst memory in the mountains and why?

My best memory: the MCC 2021, I finished 4th among trail runners from rival teams (BUFF / MATRYX / COMPRESSPORT).

My worst memory: during a ski outing in the 3 Vallées, I got caught in thick fog. It took me 3 hours to find my way back to the bottom of the slopes.

What do the mountains inspire in you?

Calm. Serenity. Challenge.

What is your relationship with the environment and ecology?

Living in a rural area, I appreciate the quiet and the low traffic. I think we can all share our playground if everyone follows the right code of conduct.

Another great passion / talent beyond sport?

Video games!
