A mountain guide and ski patrol rescuer, Fleury is a true expert of the summits. A former elite orienteer, he has traded race markers for long-haul adventure projects, driven by values of freedom, honesty and a deep respect for the environment he protects every day. ?

From the Himalayas to the trails of Norway, he covers the terrain compass in hand, turning every challenge into a positive experience. For him, the mountains are a space of calm and beauty where willpower alone forges the path.

Key Achievement

Beyond sporting achievements such as a French KV champion title and a podium at the MCC, what I value most are my adventure projects: Across Norway (a 3,000km navigation crossing of Norway), the Great Himal Race (winner of this 1,500km stage race crossing the Nepalese Himalayas), and Azimut Nord (a straight-line crossing of France).

Future projects

  • Barcelona Marathon
  • Cap à l'Ouest (cross-France traverse in a straight line from East to West)
  • Pica Pica
  • Adventure Raid World Championships in Corsica.

Interview with Fleury Roux

3 words that define you as an athlete?

Passion, determination, humility

3 values that define you as a person?

Freedom, willpower and honesty

Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?

I'm happy and proud to be part of the CIMALP family, which passes on great values through its athletes and products.

Your best and worst mountain memory — and why?

Best: my traverse of the Nepali Himalayas in 2024 — a unique and exceptionally beautiful adventure.

Worst: I can't think of a truly bad mountain memory, because with hindsight, every experience up there has been a positive one.

What do the mountains inspire in you?

I love being close to the mountains, climbing them in summer and winter alike. These immense rocky masses fascinate and draw me in. Wherever I am, I look around to find them and admire them. I grew up among them, and it's in that world that I feel truly at ease — at peace when I go to meet them and look out over the world from above!!

What is your relationship with the environment and ecology?

I love the simple mountain life and spend a large part of my days in nature, in contact with our environment. Naturally, I respect it and share that respect in my professional life, trying to instil the right values of preserving this territory.

Another great passion or talent beyond sport?

A passion for maps and the mountains!
