Originally from the province of Lecco in the Prealps, Lorenzo works in the field of rehabilitation and sports training. Growing up, he never competed in sport, but always lived right in the heart of nature and the mountains.

He also practises cycling, swimming, climbing and ski touring, and his passion for mountain running developed a few years ago. What has always driven him to run on trails? The feeling of freedom it gives him, and his love for the mountains and nature.

In 2017, Lorenzo entered his first competition. He says he lives the mountains 360°, always with that same dedication. His favourite races are Skyraces — he loves technical descents!

Winner of the Pizzo Stella, Livigno Skyrace and Bernina Ultraks skymarathons.
Top 10 finishes in several Skyrunning World Series races, including the Zac Up and Zermatt Ultraks.

3 words that define you as an athlete?

Consistency. Sacrifice. Passion.

3 values that define you as a person?

Freedom, truth, love.

Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?

I'm a true mountain lover, and I try to embody values like humility, solidarity and authenticity. These are values I found at CIMALP, from the moment I met the team in Italy. I truly feel at home with CIMALP.

Your best and worst memory in the mountains, and why?

My best memories are the ones I share with my rope team, especially during summer training in Trentino, along the Alta Via Aurina valley. Wonderful moments of togetherness and lightweight spirits. I have no negative memories — the mountains always teach, and their lessons have always been gentle and positive.

What do the mountains inspire in you?

A feeling of freedom and peace!

What is your relationship with the environment and ecology?

It matters a great deal to me! I do my best to live as responsibly as possible.

Another great passion or talent beyond sport?

Beekeeping and farming.
