Antonio grew up by the shores of Lake Como where, thanks to his parents, he was immersed in the world of the mountains from a very young age. From the age of five, he was lining up at the start of running races. Gradually, what began as simple fun demanded more and more of his time and energy, while remaining a pure pleasure. Over the years, he took up ski mountaineering and developed a passion for mountaineering and climbing. To live these passions to the fullest, he eventually moved to Livigno, a small mountain village, a few months ago.

3 words that define you as an athlete?

Passion, determination, ambition.

Perseverance, enthusiasm, optimism.

Why do you feel you belong to the Cimalp family?

I'm really thrilled to have taken this new path, and I see it as a fantastic opportunity.

Your best and worst memory in the mountains — and why?

There are so many great memories etched in my mind, but if I had to pick one, it's probably the day when, at eleven years old, I reached the summit of Monte Rosa almost by chance. That was the moment my passion for the mountains truly took flight. The least pleasant memory was when a friend and I, while descending a climbing wall, found ourselves stuck because our ropes had got tangled in the rocks. We were trapped for hours before managing to sort everything out and get back up.

What do the mountains inspire in you?

Freedom and lightness.

What is your relationship with the environment and ecology?

I think it's a truly crucial subject that can't be ignored. For my part, I do my best to minimise my impact on the environment.
